Etymology:
The species is named in honor of our esteemed colleague and kind friend Ole Karsholt who for nearly 35 years has been the Lepidoptera collection manager at Statens Naturhistoriske Museum (formerly Zoologisk Museum), Copenhagen, and in 1987–1981 collected an outstanding nepticulid material in the Andes
