Abstract: | 222 species of microlepidoptera, potentially feeding on Rosaceae in Vorarlberg (Austria occ.) are listed with their rosaceous host-plants. Larvae of 168 species were actually observed, the occurence on Rosaceae of the remaining species is based on literature and various collections. Prefered host-plants are Prunus (108 spp.), Sorbus (86 spp.) andCrataegus (83 spp.). The smallest number of species feeds on Alchemilla (11 spp.), Aruncus (9 spp.), Pyracantha (8 spp.) and Spiraea (8 spp.). The species are grouped in monophageous, oligophageous and polyphageous categories (sensu HERING 1950). The relationship of subfamilies within the Rosaceae is discussed based on oligophageous microlepidoptera. Of faunistical interest are the first records of 46 species for Vorarlberg. |
